"I give Dr. Joe 5 stars for everything - skills, treatment plan, compassion, personality and kindness! Dr. Joe has been treating me for infertility and adrenal fatigue and since going to him I have noticed serious improvements. I had done acupuncture in the past and did not get results anywhere near as good as I have with Dr. Joe. He really truly cares about his patients and will sit down and listen to you and your symptoms to determine the best treatment possible. So, if you need help and want a practitioner who really wants to follow you on your health journey whilst have top notch acupuncture skills then Dr. Joe is the guy for you. I cannot recommend him or thank him enough for helping me." -Paula W.

Acupuncture is one of the many medical systems of Chinese Medicine that has been employed for over 3,000 years to diagnose, treat and prevent various illnesses. Acupuncture can treat acute or chronic disorders to alleviate pain, improve recuperative capability, and strengthen the immune system. Acupuncture is performed by an expertly trained Acupuncturist through the insertion of a very thin sterile filiform needle at a specific point on the body to promote healing.
CHINESE BODYWORK THERAPY (TUINA)
Tuina (pronounced twee-nah) is a type of manipulative therapy that was developed in ancient China. Translated roughly, 'tui' means to press while 'na' means to grasp. Tuina involves the use of hands to stimulate and manipulate muscles, joints and acupressure points, in order to treat certain disorders and conditions.
Chinese herbology is considered most safe and effective when prescribed by a qualified practitioner of Chinese Medicine. Chinese herbal medicine has been shown to improve a wide variety of health conditions throughout the scientific world and people are finding that treatments which combine both modern and traditional medicine can be greatly beneficial to their overall health.
Cupping therapy involves the application of a suction cup to a localized area of the skin. The suction and negative pressure provided by cupping can loosen muscles, encourage blood flow, and sedate the nervous system (which makes it a great treatment for high blood pressure). Cupping is used to relieve neck and back pains, stiff muscles, stress, anxiety, fatigue, migraines, rheumatism.

"Very pleased with my first experience with acupuncture. Went in with limited range of motion in right arm. Came out being able to raise my arm higher and move with less pain in that arm. Thank you, Dr Joe!" -Barbara G.

"I've had 7 acupuncture treatments and this is my first with Dr. Joe. Dr. Joe is an expert. I have never experienced "pain free" until today. I have scoliosis and have chronic pain. Dr. Joe is amazing. If you are on the fence, give it a try especially if you have constant pain." -Eileen A.

I am state licensed in acupuncture and board certified in acupuncture and Oriental Medicine by The National Certification Commission for Acupuncture (NCCAOM). Previously, I attained my Master’s and Doctorate of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine degrees at AOMA Graduate School of Integrative Medicine in Austin, Texas. After completing my master’s degree, I pursued the intensive doctoral program to further enhance my clinical training on the care and management of patients with pain and associated psychosocial phenomena. In addition, I am a certified Chinese Manual Bodywork (Tuina) Therapist and Acupuncture Detoxification Specialist.
I received comprehensive clinical training as an acupuncturist, herbalist, and tuina practitioner at the AOMA Health Clinic and went on to provide acupuncture at various community health centers for the medically underserved, as well as a pain management clinic and a rehabilitation center for addiction. I also completed the intensive externship program at TrueNorth Health Center in Santa Rosa, California, receiving hands-on training and learning how to safely and effectively apply nutritional medicine, including water-only fasting, in an integrative medical setting. In addition, I have volunteered my acupuncture services to provide relief to a community affected by natural disaster, military veterans, and events to help with smoke and alcohol addiction.
After my doctorate program, I joined Vitality Integrative and Functional Medicine in Nashville, Tennessee, where I worked and collaborated with Sommer White, MD, to help patients with autoimmune and digestive conditions. I have also worked with renowned Oriental Medicine doctor and Western-trained medical doctor Xiao Mei Zhao, MD, OMD at Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine in Brentwood, Tennessee. While working with Dr. Zhao, I learned male and female infertility treatments, and manage pain disorders and other health conditions.

"Joe is amazing. I've seen numerous professionals... acupuncturists, doctors, orthopedic massage therapist as well as a cupping massage therapist. No one fully understood how to effectively treat my symptoms until Joe. The results I've experienced after a few sessions have transformed my life. The pain from the inflammation has subsided and the quality of my sleep has improved." -Nicole A.
